The Library Information Centre at Brother André Catholic High School is a centre of student activity, providing students access to 36 networked computers with free internet access, CD-ROM database programs, and links to stations around the school. The library also provides students with access to black and white or colour printers, scanners, and CD burners. A photocopier, laminator and binding machine are some of the other services available. A laptop computer and LCD projectors can be booked by teachers for in-class seminar presentations. The library is also home to more than 20,000 items, including subscriptions to magazines, daily newspapers and an extensive reference section. Online subscription databases are updated yearly and made available to students from school or
home. Library staff teach a variety of information study and research skills to students of all grades and subject areas and assist with personal study, research, and reading. 21st century learners experience an effective blend of new technology and more traditional learning tools. Hands-on teaching and coaching from library staff ensure embedded learning. Located conveniently in the atrium of the school, the Library Information Centre is truly at "the heart" of the school.
